Subsonic rounds have a 10/22 accessories of 330 m/s (1082 ft/s) or less and are sometimes equipped with an extra heavy,46-61grains 2.9-3.9 gram bullet. Conversely, some rounds contain little more than primer and an extra-light bullet. Subsonic rounds are especially favored for their perceived improved target accuracy, and for hunting. As the10/22 accessories in air at 20 C (68 F) is approximately 343.4 m/s (1126 ft/s), the subsonic round’s muzzle velocity is close to the speed of sound under many hunting conditions, or only very slightly below it. However, under cold air conditions at 0 C (32 F), the speed of sound drops to 331.5 m/s (1087.6 ft/s), essentially the same speed as the muzzle velocity of the subsonic round. Hence, a so-called subsonic round when used under slightly colder conditions than 0 C (32 F) is often no longer subsonic and instability may arise when crossing down through the speed of sound, reducing accuracy. To counteract this, some cartridge manufacturers have lowered the speed of their subsonic ammunition to 315 m/s (1030 ft/s) or significantly less, while other manufacturers still sell subsonic ammunition with a velocity only slightly under 330 m/s(1082 ft/s). Subsonic rounds do not work well in all semi-automatic .22 LR firearms, often failing to cycle the action.

FINGER-ADJUSTABLE SCOPES:
After zeroing, you may use the hex wrench supplied with your scope to remove the windage and elevation drums and then reposition
them so that the zero (0) lines up with the indicator line on the spindle. Any further windage or elevation
adjustments can be made more precisely by calculating the amount of clicks from the zero point the windage and elevation
drums have been moved.
BAS Scopes rheostat, located at the top of the eyebell, controls the degrees of illumination. To prevent accidental discharge in shipping,
a plastic insulator has been placed within the battery compartment. To remove the plastic insulator, unscrew the battery cover
and remove the plastic from both sides of the battery. Replace the battery, being careful to insert the battery positive (+) side
up. Replace the battery cover firmly to assure that it is water tight. The illumination feature is activated by depressing and
releasing the small button located beside the battery compartment. The button should be depressed until a click is felt. The
first click will be the illuminators least bright setting.

Firing controls on the Type 21 Rifle will be familiar to anyone acquainted with the standard AR-15 type rifle. A shell deflector keeps hot brass away from the shooter’s face. The magazine release button, Carbon Fiber charging handle and takedown and pivot pins are all in standard AR-15 positions. This one I took in on a trade 5 years ago and fired it once. It is in great shape and fired very well and was more acccurate than Ruger blackhawk . I did adjust the sights ( which are adjustable) and was very pleased with the groups it shot. It has very slight wear near the end of the barrel but small Ruger super blackhawk, Cylinder looks great.

While there are also options to convert AR-15 s to a large number of pistol and rifle calibers, the standard .223 (5.56×45mm) is the best solution. (a comparison of calibers is outside the scope of this article) The .223 round is available and manufactured in greater numbers than any other round. In addition, different loads are available to fill a number of needs, from hunting small game up to long-range accuracy, tracers, incendiary and more.
It is perhaps the best round for CQB, surpassing any of the handgun rounds with more stopping power and less chance of over-penetration. It offers a flat AR-15 magzine, good penetration when necessary, and destructive effects on targets.
